Heat FC Wins Four State Cup Championships

Heat 04 ET, Heat 04 KR, Heat 02 NPL, Heat 99 NPL

Southern Nevada Soccer Association's competitive program, Heat FC, captured four State Cup Championships at the 2017 Nevada State Championship Finals, held May 13-14 at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Heat 04 ET, coached by Esad Morina, trounced the NYSL Spartans FC 04 side 7-1 in the semifinals, and defeated Barcelona NV USA Academy 04 3-0 in the finals to win the championship for the U13 Boys division.

In the U13 Girls divsion, Heat 04 KR, led by coach Key Reid, blanked Las Vegas Revolution 04 4-0 in the semi-finals.  In an exciting championship match, Heat 04 KR edged LVPSA 04 Red 1-0 to take the title.

The Heat 02 NPL boys team coached by Chris Riggott slipped by LVPSA 02 Red 1-0, and followed up with another tight 1-0 victory over Barcelona NV USA Academy GR to win the championship in the U15 Boys division.

In the U18 Boys division the Heat 99 NPL team, coached by Frank D'Amelio, defeated Barcelona NV USA 00 Academy 2-1 in the semifinal game, and beat LVSA 99 Red 2-0 in the final game to secure the title.

Heat FC teams also earned two State Cup finalist trophies (Heat 03 NPL, Heat 00 EM) and won three third-place matches (Heat 00 NPL, Heat 02 MB, Heat 01 PM).

The four Heat FC State Champions teams will represent Nevada in the US Youth Soccer Region IV championships, to be held June 19-25 in Seattle, WA.  The two Heat FC State Cup finalists will represent Nevada in the USYS Region IV President's Cup, to be played June 12-18 in Salt Lake City, UT.
