Heat FC Wins Four State Cup Championships

Two boys teams finish as State Cup Finalists

Southern Nevada Soccer Association's competitive program, Heat FC, captured four State Cup Championships and two Finalist finishes at the 2013 Nevada State Championships, held May 3-5 at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Heat FC 01 RM, coached by Richard Moles, nipped the Downtown LVSC Rapids 01 side 1-0 in the semifinals, and defeated LVSA 01 Red 3-1 in the finals to win the championship for the U12 Girls division.

In the U15 Girls divsion, Heat FC 98 MB, led by coach Marty Biles, edged Las Vegas Neon Academy 1-0 in the semi-finals.  In an exciting championship match, Heat FC 98 MB defeated LV Premier SC 98 Red 4-3 to take the title.

The Heat FC 97 EN team coached by Enrique Narvaez dominated the Players SC 97 ED side 6-1, and followed up with a tight 1-0 victory over LV Premier SC 97 ECNL to win the championship in the U16 Girls division.

The U17 Girls division featured a 3-team finals round-robin pool.  Heat FC 96 EM, coached by Esad Morina, defeated LVSA 96 Girls Red 2-0 in the first game, and edged Legacy Football 96 1-0 in the second game to earn 6 pool match points and secure the title.

All four Heat FC State Champions girls teams will represent Nevada in the US Youth Soccer Far West Regional championships to be held in June in Hawaii.

On the boys side, Heat FC 00 FD, coached by Frank D'Amelio, dominated Leones Negros 6-1 in the semi-final match, but succumbed to NSYSL Cordica USA 3-1 in the championship game.  Heat FC 99 EH, led by coach Eddie Henderson, defeated Sagebrush SC United Red 3-0 in the semifinals, but lost to LVSA 99 Boys Red 4-0 in the final match.
