SNSA Rule Books & League Policies

US Club Soccer Policies for Member Organizations

Southern Nevada Soccer Association is affiliated with US Club Soccer; thus, all SNSA staff, players and coaches are subject to the rules and policies established for its member clubs and leagues.

A National Association member of the U.S. Soccer Federation, US Club Soccer is a non-profit organization committed to the development and support of soccer clubs in the United States. Among US Club Soccer’s guiding principles:

  • Clubs are the vehicle through which players are developed, and US Club Soccer should help facilitate club development throughout the country.
  • Clubs and their leadership should be the primary decision-makers in the structure and organization of soccer.
  • US Club Soccer should provide leadership and a vehicle for clubs and technical leaders to work together to elevate the game and player development environment.

Through US Club Soccer, all of a club’s programs – rec, youth competitive and adult – are able to be united under one organizational umbrella, creating a “members for life” culture within each club. US Club Soccer’s programming has all been developed with strong input from clubs around the country and with a minimum of rules and restrictions to allow efficient and innovative operations.

The Laws of the Game

The rules that govern league play in SNSA recreational leagues are based on the International Football Association Board's (IFAB) "Laws of the Game", with sigificant variations specific to recreational soccer and small-sided games.

THE LAWS OF THE GAME

SNSA Modified Laws Summary Sheet

SNSA follows the FIFA Laws of the Game;  however, some rules have been modified to accommodate the youth game and smaller play formats.  Click on the link below for a summary of rules modifications for the various play formats.

SNSA Rostering Policy

SNSA has adopted a rostering policy to govern the assignment of players to teams in our HUYS and SHU youth recreational leagues.  While we do our best to accommodate a player's coach or player preference requests, we also have an obligation to consider other criteria, including roster size and competitive balance within and age gender group.  Click on the link below to review the SNSA Rostering Policy.

SNSA Roster Guidelines

Do you have questions about your roster?  How to add a player, locate a missing player, or report a player drop?  How to add a coach? How to secure emergency medical consent from your parents?  Click on the link below for answers to these and other questions related to your team roster.

SNSA Club Player Dual Registration Policy

In September 2008, SNSA established a policy to prohibit players that are registered with competitive club teams from registering with an SNSA recreational league. This policy does not affect the ability of an SNSA recreational player to guest-play for a competitive club team for a tournament or special event.

SNSA League Uniform Policy

In a policy established December 1, 2006, the SNSA Board voted to require all Henderson United, Southern Highlands United, Mini Kickers and High School Spring Training teams to wear the league-issued uniform.  Click on the link below for policy details.
