Registration for the Spring 2017 youth recreational league season will begin on December 1, 2016 and will run through January 13, 2017. The Spring 2017 season features league play through our Henderson United and Southern Highlands United programs for U5-U14 players; our Mini Kickers program for players born 8/1/12 - 7/31/13; and our High School Spring Training program for players in grades 9-12. League play starts on or after March 4, 2017 and continues through May 13, 2017. We encourage anyone who will be working as a team official, whether as a head coach, assistant coach, or team manager, to register with SNSA. Registered team officials are insured by our national affiliate, US Club Soccer. Registration is easy, and best of all, it's free! Southern Nevada Soccer Association is committed to providing a safe environment for kids to play soccer. As part of our player protection initiative, SNSA national affiliate US Club Soccer requires all adults that work with our youth players to pass a background check and to complete a basic injury recognition training course. Effective July 1, 2016, US Club Soccer has implemented an upgraded background screening process that includes a requirement that coaches and team managers complete the Sideline Sports Doc (SSD) online video course covering injury recognition and return-to-play protocol. Topics include the SAFE method of injury evaluation, concussions, heat illness, ankle injuries, knee injuries and fractures.
All fees related to the background screening and SSD course are paid for by SNSA. We appreciate our coach and team manager volunteers and the work they do to provide a safe and positive environment for our players. Southern Nevada Soccer Association national affiliate US Club Soccer has established the Players First program to provide valuable resources for youth soccer coaches, parents and players. Players First is a branded, holistic club soccer experience that emphasizes the development of each individual to his or her full potential, and helps parents make better choices about where their children should play. In order to help members adopt Players First, US Club Soccer is providing a suite of best-in-class resources, which add value to clubs, coaches, parents and players. The Players First program is comprised of the following five pillars:
Club Development: Soccer clubs are the foundation on which American soccer will maximize growth and long-term success on the field. Players First provides an array of resources to aid in the growth and development of clubs.
Coaching Development: Clubs should encourage their coaches to continually seek out new educational opportunities, and Players First provides resources to help coaches to grow.
Player Development: Players First provides tools to clubs and coaches to encourage their players to individually invest in their own development.
Parent Engagement & Education: Players First provides a framework for parents to understand how to value their child’s soccer experience, replacing the reliance on match outcomes, which has served to hinder proper player development methodology.
Player Health & Safety: Players First provides resources to help clubs and coaches better ensure the health and safety of their players.

If you are planning to coach a team with Henderson United Youth Soccer or Southern Highlands® United Youth Soccer for the Spring 2017 season, be sure to submit your Team Reservation form to identify players that are expected to return to your team and to indicate your team's preferences. The Team Reservation form is not binding, but assists SNSA in planning for the upcoming season. Also, even if a returning player is listed on your Team Reservation form, they must still register on time to guarantee their spot on your team. The assignment of non-returning players to teams is governed by the SNSA Rostering Policy guidelines (see link below). Uniform color requests are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis based on the date the team reservation is submitted, You can e-mail, fax or mail in your form, or you can just send an e-mail with the information for your team. The SNSA Preferred Vendor Program connects HUYS and SHU teams with providers of team photography, awards and team parties. While these items are optional, many teams choose to have team photos taken, purchase awards for team members, or have a team party at the end of the season. A packet of SNSA preferred vendors and their product offerings for the current season is included in the team packet distributed to all teams prior to the start of the season. Teams are not required to use an SNSA preferred vendor, but these businesses sponsor and support SNSA, so we encourage you to use them for your team photo, awards and party needs!
